Got Questions About Your Farm Day? We’ve Got Answers.

Before you lace up your boots and head out to meet our long-eared friends, take a quick look at the answers below. They cover everything from ticket prices and opening times to what snacks (and sunscreen!) to pack—so you can arrive relaxed, prepared, and ready for an unforgettable Donkey Dairy adventure.

What days and times are you open?

We welcome visitors every Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday from 09h00 – 15h00. During school holidays we usually extend to Wednesday – Sunday; follow our social pages for exact dates.

Do I have to book, or can I just arrive?

Advance booking is essential. We’re a working farm and limit daily numbers to keep the experience personal and the animals stress-free. Reserve your spot via our online form or WhatsApp.

How much does it cost to get in — and what’s included?
  • R80 pp (ages 2–60)
  • R50 for pensioners
  • Under-2s free

The entry fee lets you explore the animal enclosures, play areas and picnic lawns. Extra-special activities (below) carry small add-on fees.

Which activities cost extra, and how much?

Sorry, no outside food or drinks. We serve freshly braaied Wagyu burgers, boerie rolls (including veggie options) and light snacks at farm-stall prices.

What should we pack?

Comfortable walking shoes, sunblock, a hat and a reusable water bottle. If rain is forecast, bring an umbrella or raincoat. A camera is a must for all the animal selfies!

Is the farm suitable for prams or wheelchairs?

Main paths are compacted but still natural terrain; lightweight prams work in dry weather, yet some areas are uneven. Wheelchair users are welcome, though certain zones (e.g., hiking trails) may be challenging.

How do we get there, and is the road OK for normal cars?

We’re 6 km down a farm dirt road outside Magaliesburg. Standard sedans handle it fine if you drive slowly, but very low-clearance vehicles aren’t recommended. Your booking confirmation contains a GPS pin and step-by-step directions.

Which payment methods do you accept on the day?

Cash and card are both accepted at the gate, in the farm shop and for meals.

Can we interact with the animals all day?

Absolutely — petting and feeding areas are open throughout visiting hours. Bottle-feeding and rides run only at the scheduled times above to protect the animals’ wellbeing.
